The last few months have seen Porsche suffering hedge fund lawsuits yet again. Porsche has been going through such challenges since 2007 when the company was secretly attempting to take over Volkswagen. Since then, lawsuits continue to be instigated against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer, as groups of hedge funds have lost over $1 billion. Although the case was eventually thrown out, other suits followed over the very same issue.

Honda: Former Seat Plant in Ohio Being Converted To Acura NSX Assembly Plant

Honda Motor Co. has declared that it will invest about $70 million to bring an Acura NSX assembly plant to Ohio. The company will be converting an old seat plant in Ohio to house the new assembly plant for the Acura model. The plant will be equipped with robots and approximately 100 trained workers to build this electric-gasoline hybrid. The plant is adjacent to Honda of America Manufacturing Inc.’s Marysville plant, where many workers will be recruited from.

Chevrolet Dealers Getting Into the Van Market With Help Of Nissan

GM has looked to Nissan to help with Chevrolet dealers getting into the van market. Nissan’s NV200 small cargo van went on sale at dealerships about a month ago. Built in Cuernavaca, Mexico, this vehicle is gradually generating interest from automakers, and is being pitched as a more fuel-efficient option to full-sized commercial vans that have been sold by the Detroit 3 for decades. There is a need for something with lots of cargo space that’s easier on gas.

A dispute with Selmat Automotive, a supplier of plastic parts, has affected Fiat 500 and Maserati production over the past few days. This situation could be a huge factor specifically for the production of Fiat 500 mini cars and Maserati sedans. As a result of this halt in production, thousands of workers have been seriously affected. Selmat CEO Enzo Maccherrone said that although there was a brief halt, deliveries are starting up again this week.

A new F1 contract for Pirelli is said to be on the horizon. The tire supplier is said to continue to be a big part of Formula One well beyond 2013. Chairman and chief executive Marco Tronchetti Provera is quite confident in Pirelli’s position within the racing world. F1 chief at Pirelli, Paul Hembery, hinted at the F1 in Bahrain at the fact that Pirelli’s contract was about to expire, and needed new life breathed into it.
